Bearing Manufacturing Workshop: Machining, Grinding, Assembly and Inspection

Shanghai Furuisheng Precision Bearing Co., Ltd. (FRSZC) manufactures tapered roller bearings, deep groove ball bearings and special bearings for automotive and industrial customers. The plant covers more than 3,000 square metres in Baoshan District, Shanghai, employs over 80 people including more than 10 technical staff, and runs eight automatic grinding lines with an annual output above one million bearing sets.

Bearing life is decided long before final inspection: in how the rings are turned, how the steel is heat treated, and how consistently the raceways are ground. The photographs below follow that sequence through our workshop, from ring machining to packing.

Bearing production process, step by step

• Ring machining — inner and outer rings are turned to the pre-grinding dimensions, with the chamfer and shoulder geometry that locate the cage and rollers.
• Heat treatment — controlled hardening and tempering gives the rings the hardness and dimensional stability needed for a long service life under load.
• Grinding — raceway, bore and face grinding on automatic lines, with in-process gauging so that tolerance is held batch after batch rather than checked afterwards.
• Cleaning and assembly — parts washing, ball or roller matching by size group, cage assembly and controlled grease filling.
• Inspection and packing — noise and vibration testing, clearance and dimensional checks, then rust protection and packing for export.

Because the whole chain — turning, heat treatment, grinding, assembly and inspection — runs inside one plant, we can trace a batch back to its heat number and process parameters when a customer reports a problem.
